Development Plan - Revelstoke Airport

Revelstoke Airport is a key centre for aviation activity in the broader Columbia Shuswap Regional District, serving air ambulance transfers, wildfire suppression operations, and a full range of corporate, commercial, and private users. In 2022, HM Aero was retained by the Regional District to prepare a long-term Airport Development Plan to guide the future growth of the facility.

A comprehensive infrastructure condition assessment was completed for all airfield assets, and the requirements of current and potential future airport users and tenants were identified to determine which development projects would best improve the social and economic benefits of the Airport. To support this process, 16 stakeholder groups were included in consultation activities, including provincial agencies, private users, and governmental representatives.

The Airport Development Plan included approximately $2.8M in recommended investments over a 10-year period, including the establishment of improved aircraft parking, additional fuel storage, the development of a Fixed Base Operator, upgraded de-icing capabilities, and the establishment of a floatplane base in the adjacent lagoon. A multiyear capital project implementation plan was also provided for the rehabilitation of the airport’s existing assets.
